A question occured to me today, and reading the wiki it does seem possible - Is it possible to 'create' wind? Such as, you have a flexi object and a script to make it blow about. I think using LLWind it is possible, or is that for only use with making clouds?

llWind() RETURNS the direction and speed of the wind; it doesn't CHANGE it. There is no way to change the wind in any way from script. However, you might be able to simulate a flexi-prim fluttering in the wind by changing its rotation abruptly (e.g. llSetRot() or a fast llRotLookAt()). Other effects depicting wind may be possible, but changing it isn't at this time.

What's wrong with setting it to react to wind in the flexi setings?

Wind is always so low. I have flexi items on, and they barely move unless I move... Unless that's something else.

Also.. Not all objects come with mod permissions =p

More seriously, just while reading, I got the idea it should be possible to simulate some wind if you play on the force vector of the flexiprim with llSetPrimitiveParams();

Just an idea...

Hehe, I thought someone would come along with a Beano joke =p

But, still, not all objects are modifiable.. Think I've figured another way around this anyway.

Perhaps those aren't set to react to wind. Wind setting are variable, too, not fixed. Most clothing is made to not whip around too much as it would go through you and not look particularly good.

If you are wanting to script a wind to blow a no-mod item of clothing, set to no-wind reaction, about I'd say you are going to have a difficult time.

The other thing is flexi is client-side and sometimes I have to turn my graphics settings UP to keep flexies from thrashing around too much.
