Is there a way to write a script to check the last login date for a user??
As far as I can tell llRequestAgentData lacks this functionality which seems odd since last login information is present in group membership lists.

Maybe you can monitoring the log in and logout with some kind of "online indicator" and recording the timestamp when login or logout

that particular information isn't exposed within lsl.
within lsl, the only way to get this would would be to track it manually, perhaps by polling with llRequestAgentData and the saving the change times. _____________________

If you want to track when your friends are online and how long you can use
the program SL Friends Monitor. (url: http://www.slprofiles.com/slfriendsmonitor.asp) SL Friends Monitor is a standalone program but works only under MS Windows. |

monitoring the friends page may or may not be effective, depending on whether it's working this week or not (or tracking online status when it's blocked in the friends list and shouldn't be)...

SL Friends Monitor wouldn't be a viable solution because friends can hide their online status plus it cannot monitor non-friends.
I'm surprised this had been overlooked when LSL was developed, last login information can be useful if you're checking for a friend being around lately. Since it's possible to find the information via group membership lists could this be somehow accessed using scripts?? For now the only solution I see is to poll the dataserver periodically but that would mean having a box rezzed on land 24/7 and someway to communicate with it off sim. |

I don't believe it was 'overlooked', but rather deliberately not implemented. It's a privacy issue, I really don't want people checking up on when I log in, friend or no. Maybe you can try, hmm, talking to your friends instead? _____________________

I guess privacy may have been a factor but last logins shows up in group lists so they can't be that concerned about it.
Anyway to explain my interest I've basically coded a Buddy HUD which tells me when my friends are offline, online or nearby with additional time stamps. I just thought it would be nice to include last login information to compliment my data output. |
