I feel like I live here. Look thru the forums for hours then finally post when I can't figure it out anyway.
I want to have the root prim move closer/farther from the rest of the prims in the set on command. I have tried finding the locations of both, calculating a point between, breaking the links, moving the root, then trying to relink. I ended up mopping up prims for an hour.
The root prim is spinning the rest, and so has to be the one to move, unless there's a way to move the dozen or so other prims in the set towards it and maintain their own integrity....
Any idea?

The others will have to move relative to the root. It'll be a pain, setting them all up with thier own script and having them listen to link messages, and depending on conditions in the sim, they'll move at slightly different times...

When you say "spinning" do you mean that the whole link set constantly spins around, or do you mean that the object is rotated periodically? Would this help? Offset Rotations
