My father's about to retire and he's always wanted a gallery to sell his artwork... Well I've convinced him to start a family business selling his prints online. I'm doing everything business wise and all he has to do is paint. I'm thinking of building him a little gallery in SL to link to his site when I'm finished it! If anyone doesn't mind, I would like some feedback on his artwork, or any advice of any kind that's not a waste of my time. These are just a few of about 300 he has already, prints of these will probably be for sale sometime in the near future once I get everything rolling... If anyone would like to see more, I can watermark about 40 more I have scanned for feedback... Thanks, here they are...

Beautiful. May he enjoy his retirement!
If you're going to show them in SL in a gallery setting without the watermarks across them, then do not upload a high resolution image! Anyone can take a snapshot remember and you dont want the textures stolen.
Are you going to sell some inside SL from the gallery you might build? Are they going to be limited runs, as opposed to unlimited? - Its something to think about.
I've been helping set a friend up in business in the Real World and one thing she didnt consider was exposure with the amount of driving she's doing. Its nothing to do with SL, but if either of you drive it might be an idea to consider getting the website name in vinyl graphics on your cars

Your father is obviously a very talented artist and the best of luck with the gallery. I agree with Urah..... you dont' want the artwork being copied or stolen be careful when uploading such at such large resolutions. I shall be looking forward to seeing them in-world.

Amazing pictures, your father is really good at what he does. Wouldn't mind a couple of them to hang in my home in SL!

I would suggest a 2 tier pricing system, with a token payment for a low-rez framed print in SL (keep in mind that art theft is astonishingly simple in SL, much like displaying art on a webpage, so don't provide too high resolution, and consider a watermark attribution (though something less glaring for SL),. then a secondary price that allows people in SL to possibly purchase a print in RL as well.
Just don't be surprised if it doesn't take off hugely. People are into art in SL, but most people will settle for some pics they snagged off the web, and uploaded for 10L and slapped in a makeshift frame.

The **only** way to avoid textures beeing stolen in SL is not put them in SL. I would suggest to put them in a web site with a password.
If the avatar pays he receives a temp password or a complete URL with the temp password so he can download the painting. That can be a solution, there are many, but if you want to keep the intelectual property of your work, store the textures outside SL.

Unfortunately I know how easily textures can be stolen in SL... If I do the gallery for him, they will be lower quality, and it will most likely be a marketing tool for the website I will be doing for him... Thank you for the responses, they're much appreciated... I'm going to post a bunch more for peoples viewing pleasure. (NOTE: these are scans of photos taken of the paintings from his porfolio)
