Hiya,

We built an area themed after our envisioning of "Hell" using the new Second Life technologies: windlight and sculpties. Here's the results!
(If you would like the settings we made (all times of day included) please send me an IM with your email so I can send you the installer)

Enjoy!

Very nice. I can't wait until they let us set Windlight settings at the sim level. *drool*

Meh. Installing other people's windlight settings is still only a few clicks with a settings installer. Like the one Torley gives out on the wiki. I wouldn't wait for sim-level settings, seems like it might take a while :(

The average resident needs all the help she/he can get. I've got a new public build in the works, and we're planning some WL effects- but it's going to be pretty lame if I have to put a billboard at the welcome area stepping people through how to set up their Windlight. Most folks won't do it anyway.

Tough to make a good first impression if you're giving people instructions on how to view your sim upon entry.

This, to me, is a major problem with Windlight. The development team seems to believe that people will be overjoyed to tweak the settings, because the Windlight alpha testers do. I think Wildefire is right: very very few people will change the defaults.

Sim designers should not count on people installing windlight settings, unless it is an RP lifestyle sim in which avies are expected to spend all their time.

Those pics look pretty good!:)

However, I'd have to agree with the other people on this thread that we'll have to wait until sim-level tweaking goes into effect. Otherwise everyone will have to tweak on their own and will end up seeing this differently.
