Pictures from before I was born, and they aren't black & white.

Just for fun I decided to take a picture from as close to the same spot as possible, not easy as much terrain has changed. I was actually surprised how little Lusk has changed, some of the same landmarks are still there. Even the bridges haven't moved, just expanded.

well this is sad :(
My first 512 plot were TRU started was in Mallard in 2004 but I havent a clue what sim that was on.
I just know the absolute feeling of freedom when I could afford my own sim after having neighbours build signs on poles 1000 meters in the air over my "forte" like walls so my customers would see them! lol

That was nr the end of TRUs time there. One of TRUs first artists joined me Teren and shes still with TRU now!

God that was so long ago.

Well you have to admit none of them would win " sim of the year" by todays standards but then we have better textures made and sold now than back then *coughs* rofl

I meant " globally " of course ;P

Thanks for the memories and the photos!

Youtube has very early SL engine videos.
primitars, 3d waves, an ecosystem of predator and worm, bombs to split walls into pieces...

We've truly come a long way. Not too long ago the grid only maxed out at 15K online at once...and now it reaches nearly 60K.

I thought I was gorgeous, and I loved my dragon shirt. To think i walked like a penguin then and men still hit on me everywhere i went. Ahhh..youth.

Here's me standing on my very first plot, in Feb 2004. Can't say I recall the sim name any longer. The cool thing was that this was during a "land rush". LL used to deploy a sim and noobs would line up at the sim border waiting for the gates to open. Once it did, you'd rip around the sim as fast as possible, looking for the best spot and plunking yourself down on it and claiming it. Great fun, even though you could only do it once. I'm sure poeple gamed it though, as there were no alt limits back then :)

I lived and had a buisness in mallard :D That was a nice sim. I was right in the corner on the water. :p

Cutter, that shot of your's is from the Stinson region just south of Immaculate. That area is now part of the Forest of Kahruvel. Here is a photo of that area today. That's the Seaside Village in Cowell off in the distance to the north. I'm standing on the same spot you were, hidden by the trees.

Here is another shot from ground level. In it, I'm looking north across Stinson and into the Immaculate region.

I've been trying to track down old landowner info for the area and am glad I came across your post. I knew that many parcels in the area were obtained in the old Land Rushes and it's cool to know you were one of them.

Hehehe, thanks for the confirmation. I flew out that way the other day and thought it might have been around the Forest but wasn't quite sure. Excellent to know for my SL history!

What a magnificent bit of SL History! These pictures bring back fond memories. I see Salazar Jack's Rez Stop in Montara next to the road :) And your Look-out in Rodeo on top of the mountain!
