Over the next month and a half or so, I'm going to be doing a few (I estimate around 10) pictures with a holiday theme you don't normally think about: loneliness. I'll write a short story or description for each, though that might be posted after the image itself (As with this first image)
This first one depicts a lonely woman on christmas eve (Story to be added tomorrow around 9:30 or 10 AM SLT)
NOTE:: I am not claiming that I am a great artist, or that I'm even really that good at photo editing or photography within SL. I had an idea and am so bringing it forth to the public.... I make any sets in these shots unless otherwise noted, and the person(s) depicted will usually be played by me and my close friends.

Just my opinion - no story is needed, a picture is worth a thousand words. Words would limit the viewer to a specific story but there are possibilities for MANY stories in this picture. This is a very thoughtful image, I find it fascinating and thank you for sharing it.

I'm actually probably not going to post a story after all, maybe at the end.. maybe. and thank you ^^

.
your graphic work as well as Ann Launay's is quite beautiful and perhaps should been seen by more ...
there is a wonderful site called deviantart.com ... and i promise you, its not as bad as it sounds
among the many amazing and astonishing graphic artists there are also writers and poets, who create their art by combining graphics and literature
similar to this little something i did a while back ... geocities.com/arsenic_myst/pgenchantedchildg
you can search Deviant using the keywords visual poetry - images poem - image poetry to find artists with similar interests ...
the neet thing about Deviant is the feedback from others ... most are very kind, unless one has the courage to demand critical feedback ...
and btw ... some people from SL are posting on Deviant ...
digital graphics is a wonderful medium ... and it can be further enhanced ... with the art of inspired thoughts

Please, it is a wonderful picture, very striking, very thoughtful, personally it speaks to me on several levels, as someone who takes a lot of pictures in SL and is very unsure of her abilities, i can say this, there is never any need for a disclaimer when you are presenting something like this!, some will like it, some won't but as long as you are expressing yourself it really doesn't matter what others think.....hmmm spose i need to read that to myself too

Great picture Okiphia
Please don't add stories (though I don't think you are at this point).
Just as people will get an image in thier mind as they read a book, your picture allows the viewer to create their own background story based on thier own life experiences. Its much more powerful to allow them this.

Wait, what? How'd I sneak in here? lol I do love the image, Okiphia...how there's nothing bright in the world except our heroine.

You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.
Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
