hey,
I would love to get some honest opinions about the pictures i have taken in sl.... I want to start a photography studio and want some objective critics about my work so that i can learn from it and take better pictures in the future.

The pictures displayed here are not edited in photoshop yet... i have taken them straight form sl.

Thank you!

Mirjam

I like the first shot, but I think you need a lower angle on the second shot so that the legs do not look foreshortened. Camera hight should be chest height (i.e. your chest) or lower for portraits. This is the most common mistake that people make in rl or sl taking portrait shots — the camera is at the eye level of the photographer, which is far too high when shooting a human subject. Best of luck with it.

One thing I'm sure you're going to see are the same delusions as in RL; everyone already has a camera and everyone considers themselves expert photographers because they can push a button.

Offer something special and unique; better poses, better lighting, better backgrounds and props. Of course once you get it into Photoshop the rules change and you can make it as awesome as it needs to be. ;)

thank you all for answering my post...

I have changed one pic into another pic because i wasnt happy with that one... The pictures you see in here are the first ones i have taken in sl in my studio... i want to work with props and backgrounds off rlpictures i have taken myself in rl... ...So im still trying and hoping to be better and better....and different from the rest in the end...and off course in the end i will edit some pictures in photoshop, however i believe that the basics off a beautiful picture are in the raw pictures itself and cant be fixed by photoshop

Was just thinking more on the poses thing, and the updated pic reminded me of that... what about recreating famous poses from movies / paintings / literature?

It would definitely be interesting to see a couples' portrait of the beach scene from 'From Here To Eternity', for instance.

Or seeing a Leighton painting redone in 3D with SL poses and avatars?
