Hi all, well we finally finished it!

We submitted our video to the Transformers contest on Thrusday, so I think it's safe to go ahead and post the link here now. It shows the combination of animation and alpha work we did on the project.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_beHhHm9x-Y

Lucinda Obviate (my most valued treasure in all of SL and RL) did the entire build.. the car AND Autobot!

I scripted the HUD and Autobot for the lights, sounds, transformations, etc.

Put it all together with a filming HUD Lucinda had and a LOT of takes and retakes - lol - some film and audio editing, and presto! you have an SL video of your new Autobot! :)

I hope you like the video, feel free to say what you like here or there, but either way... I thought it might be a good example of how alphas and animations can work together in timed sequences.

I'm always happy to share ideas with people wanting to learn things like these in SL, because once upon a time, I knew nothing about scripting or building, and now I get to have fun with this kind of stuff! (not to mention .. I still learn a lot all the time.. please feel free to comment on improvements or pointers if you notice or have any. I'm not closed off to criticism or learning new things!)

Sorry, but this is my first humongus avatar project, and I think it turned out. well BIG! LOL

cya!

Well, thank you very much, and Lucinda says thanks also. Everybody only got three weeks notice, so it was a big push, and we plan on smoothing out the car some, and we're adding features all the time now, so as soon as it's all done and the competition is over, we will try to make her available.

I'm finishing up the physics engine right now that let's the wearer drive her like a vehicle, and will also let someone else drive the car -- the sit on the chassis, then the car does... then it's all one big show! :)

Gonna have to figure out what to do if you transform while someone is driving though.. probably just have the drive chassis 'die' - although I can see them dangling out of your chest in mid air in a driving sit position.. hahahaha :)

Take care,
Hap

.

Ooooooo nightmarish ...

and then just at the end when the transformer's face guard opens,
revealing a brief glimpse of pathos, of emotion and bewilderment ...

great job!!! by all those people involved

Thanks for the compliment! :)

OMG.. you won't believe this.. Lucinda made some seriously kick-uhh butt.. racing jackets that go along with Classy.. You have GOT to see this!

If you want a free one.. just IM Lucinda and she'll give you one.

She made a zipped up one, half-zipped up one, under-t-shirt, and a baby t-shirt... holy cow! hahahah... I wasn't expecting this, but this jacket, I mean wow, this thing looks REAL!

ALL of them are in a notecard too, you just click the item you want and you get it... freaky... lol

Just IM Lucinda Obviate and she will give you one if you want it.. .seriously, you gotta see this jacket to believe it!

I did the best I could to take some snapshots, but these really don't do them justice... enjoy! :)

Take care,
Haplo

(Oh yeah, we're in the middle of a move here next week... so it will be a bit, but we will make a video of "under the hood" of Classy... we'll pop the hood and show all of her features, sounds, and some good footage. AND just to make you suffer... we will be making a back-story video for her ;) Cya later!
