new build: roof like sydney opera house

well, my bastardized version of it anyway. i've just started with learning to build, but i like how it turned out. it's the first time i played with cutting and hollowing out prims. i just now figured out how to do that. heh.

anyway, here it is. it's for a tattoo shop i'm gonna set up, above ground anyway. my personal quarters are below ground, hence the buildup of the terrain that my shop is sitting on. downstairs is reachable via a private teleport, for now anyway. still tryign to decide what to do with the pool of water. right now, there is a skylight under it that can be open and closed from downstairs.

the inside of the roof is not nearly as nice as the outside, but it looks like a cathedral ceiling, kind of, if you squint real hard and have had a few drinks. hehehe. you're not missing much by me not posting pics of it.

Looks great -- very creative. I love seeing other folks trying new, ground breaking techniques -- inspires me to dabble a bit more. Your roof is awesome (and I guess I'll have to come shop there to see the inside!)

i haven't seen anything like it in SL yet, but that could jsut be because i haven't been around long enough. there's a ton of great architecture, and i'm just a beginner. i mostly just wanted to be different than everything else in my neighborhood. i'll definitely be refining the concept and build process as i learn more tricks of the trade.

i'd love to do something like this on a large scale.
