The Shelter has replaced The Edge; an albino antique radio has replaced the gun.

Wow, how awfully considerate of Linden Lab to solicit commentary and feedback and acknowledge it by telling absolutely no one.
Glad to be of service. Asshats. Thanks, SuzanneC.

I dont know if I would describe The Shelter as a dance club to new residents, but am very happy to see it take over a spot as a new departure point. Use your FIC magic Sue and have them spruce up the signage a bit. They need to see the line-dancing dog and maybe describe it as a "New Resident Full Service Station and Social CLub"....or something.

"FIC magic" is a joke. Anyone can see what orientation island looks like, so long as they aren't maxed out on alts. It costs ten dollars. Most people probably know someone they could ask to take the trial offer and back out, and then cancel.
I applaud the Lindens for taking this step to turn over more power and responsibilty to individual customers and voluntary customer groups and I hope like heck that it succeeds to the fullest extent possible.
New customers will be able to arrive at parcels from which troublemakers can be banned by the parcel owner for reasons like being a rude hateful jerk or always neg rating new customers just to see them get upset or failing to obey local etiquette rules like not cussing too much and keeping your clothes on for the most part.
I agree it looks like there should be some signs there, but then, I make my living designing signs, so I might be a little prejudiced.

For the life of me I cant figure out why going to an airport is helpful to ya when yer brand spankin new *shrugs*

If you want to start out exploring or want to get a sense of what you can do in SL, you can do worse than Abbott's.

I think Travis made a comment along the lines of Rick's about not really liking having the Shelter summed up as a "dance club".

Well on that previous post's note about being summed up as a dance club, if it look like a cat and smells like a cat, its probably a mouse.

It's possible it's more the subject of the chat that makes a dance club be a dance club.
The Aerodrome is a great place to start at - it at least used to have some fly before you buy vehicles, I assume it still does; the architecture looks great, and it has lots of room to fly around in and lots of obstacles to have fun avoiding or use as landing and jumping off points.
The Shelter and the Aerodrome are both great entry points. Can't wait to see more added to the list.

What sandbox is the entry point? I can understand the change, although a gun would've been entirely appropriate for something like Rausch.
