Jeeez you're an oldbie!

Wow, I never realized Varney:
(a) was one of the original 16
(b) once was without the eastern Varney river/gorge
(c) had so little water

These pics would be great on the History WIKI

These maps are also available at Yadni's Junkyard, I have a bunch of them and I find them pretty interesting. Has there been an official Second Life map published recently or is the world just too big now to fit on one page?

I remember being absolutely terrified at the idea of crossing the big, concrete bridge that marked the starting point of the Outlands. It took me months to get up the courage to cross it and see what was out there only to discover the only thing was Bella's party shack and Zoli's giant floating castle.
Here's another one. Remember the first scripted thing? That hanging/moving windchime by the newbie corral. I remember watching that thing in awe.
...Look how far we've come.

Some say harnessing the script was the single factor that saved early avs from death in the jaws of savage prims. Today's prims are so tame, many avs pile the critters on their heads in colonies of several dozen or more.

Well they did that back then two but the difference was it was more like a get the monkey off my back sorta thing...they danced they shaked..they type screamed ...was a hillarious ordeal and it generally took place right after they bought something....

I remember I used to laugh for hours on end when that happend to people.

Other thing was teaching Lindens about Seat Belts on the first upper atmosphere platforms...all I can remember was the Scream and THUMP!!!!...

Anyway...memories...

Here too with Mid-November 2002 on TSO. I wish I'd heard of SL sooner. Although with the experiences gained and limitations learned in TSO, I've joined SL with a better understanding of what was lacking...and what I can make up for here. :)

I wish I had taken more pics to drive back when I started. My original account was not able to be activated upon my return (I wish I had some of my old inventory)but I ran across this shot the other day from my first build. It was definately not a traditional sort of building but it was so fun to just play with the prim and stick them together for my large art piece of a house.

Holy Moses this is an interesting thread :) I think I might have some pics from those first days....I'll have to look on my archived CDs for them though, lol. I wish I could remember what sim I had built a little piece of nothing on back then; was one of those islands though, on the way to BBC's awesome pad :D He had operating hangar doors and an art gallery. Love you oldbies, group hug, eh? *hugs*

[edit] sorry but my old screenshots are long-gone I guess :( but here's one of me (I've posted this before in another thread) from way back at closed beta, fun fun - check me out in my default leather jacket :)
