First Serious Attempt at Photography

After a complete makeover I thought I'd take some studio type shots of myself and here's the one which I felt turned out best. I'm quite pleased at the result considering it's my first serious attempt at photography. However, I'm not an expert and it would be great to get any feedback whether positive or negative on any aspect of the shot, or AV for that matter.

The picture is unphotoshopped with no additional lighting and with a simple coloured prim as background.
