There was a blue moon tonight in Amaterasu, it was absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure if it looked that way on the main grid (I was playing with set sun position in estate tools), so I thought I'd share some pics. Enjoy! :)

Cool! This is only the second time I can remember hearing about a blue moon. I can't remember back when the first one was...anyone else recall?

Did they at least have a pumpkin for Halloween? Or did they forget this year?

I have seen blue, green, yellow, and orange moons. They usually only last a few seconds in each stage. It seems pretty rare AND you have to be looking to see it when it happens so it may be more common than you actually see them. Oh, I have also seen the moon in eclipse before too, thats really rare because it is black and nearly impossible to see unless your looking when it happens.

Here are a few various moons. The eclipse is hard to see, but you can see a black dot with no stars (left of center) if you look closely. There is also a pic of the sun included here too.

I need to start paying more attention to the sky at night.

Pete,
I remember the first time because I was the one that posted it. I believe the explaination was that the moon image travels over a background of various colors, hence the reason you can see it in various colors. It had something to do with the sun and it's sun sets, but obviously I wasn't paying very close attention.

Too cool Loki!
It would be cool too if those were fake photoshopped moons :D

I love taking pictures of the sun and the moon. Here are a few notable ones I captured.
