Hello all, hope this message finds you well? I am working on a little video and I would like to ask for your help with this. If you are able to help I would be very grateful, it should not take more than 5mins of your time, and will cost you nothing.

* Please note though, the DEADLINE for this is 17th OCTOBER 2007, after this date, please disregard this message.

For this video project I would like to use a lot of images of avatar faces (150 + if possible) the more weird, colorful and wonderful your avatar, the better! If you would like your avatar's face to be included then please follow the instructions below. In return, if I use the image, I'll send you a link to the finished work once it is complete (if it all works out). Thanks so much!

1) Please ensure that lighting is set to daylight / noon (use Mouse-Moves-Sun if needed) and find or create a large solid-black backdrop (completely black please).

2) Take a close-up snapshot of your Avatar's face (straight on, framed like the example of mine here) - please use a size of 1024x768, and save the snapshot to your hard drive. Attachments, hats, horns, whatever, are OK

3) At this point please convert the .bmp file to a .jpg (but retain best settings), to keep the file-sizes down, if you can. Name the File the same as your Avatar's name.

4) Finally, email the jpeg as an attachment to me at:-

joebenny@talktalk.net

Please use just the word 'FACE' for the email subject heading, and include just your Avatar's Name in the body of the text.

That's it!

I promise I will not spam or give out your email address. In fact, the only other email you will get from me is a link to the finished work when it is done.

Please Note: By doing this, I am assuming that you are giving me permission to use the image (in this video only). I also promise I will not display your image in a negative way, but I do not guarantee that I will use the image (because I have no idea how many I will get at this point) - although I hope to use the first 100 or so that I receive.

Once again, please note the deadline is the 17th OCTOBER 2007, after this I will no longer be using the email address above and emails will not be received.

THANKS SO MUCH IF YOU CAN HELP ME!

kind regards to you all, see you around...

Hi, no, I've made several fairly high profile machinima-films before but not any like this... if you send me your picture, like the example I included in the initial post, I will send you a link to this one when it is done tho... thanks!

Hi Robbie,
Although mine is not a particularly colourful face, I'd be happy to send you a pic (bit of an admirer of your stuff to be honest). However, I cannot find the example? So would it be okay if I just follow the description?

I can't see the link either and I looked and looked. The only link I see is the email address. I sent a pic anyway following your directions as best I could. I hope you can use it.

I'm not sure why the link isn't working, but if you right click and choose "Show image in new window," (or something like that, in your browser,) it will open and you can see it. At least, it did for me. :D

(And I'm getting mine ready now!)

Hope this helps!

I can't find your example snapshot, but I sent one off anyway.

Had a little play around with mine after I sent the original to Robbie. ..
