Ok. It's nice but all I see is a bit of face.
My suggestion to make even better would be to find a nice outdoors spot and set the world to sunset, or sunrise depending on location, use a nice pose or sit somewhere and show a bit more of you 'av'. (i don't mean nudity). You can even make a couple or more of prims and turn on the lighting feature on them using a colour other than white. Set world to midnight and experiment from there. (Will have to have "local lights" turned on in preferences.) Let's see what you can come up with. A nice little project to make you take better photos. _____________________

I'll try that! Is there anyway to take a full body pic without making it look like it's too far away?

I'll try that! Is there anyway to take a full body pic without making it look like it's too far away? I've struggled a bit with that too as of late. One method that a few of my friends use is take the snapshot but do not upload it -- rather save it to your computer, and edit it in photoshop. Make the appropriate size adjustments and what have you, and then upload it as a texture to Second Life (assuming you ever wanted it there to begin with). It costs the same, and can be used in all the same situations, plus the added benefit of being able to use it as a texture in building. I've attached an example, if you're not sure what i mean. |

Hi Slayora
Your AV is nice but I think her cloth is a little too plain. Also putting on some accessories like earring and necklace would be nice. About the picture I gonna have to agree with Kornscope here that you need a nicer background location. Also try to switch around the sun lighting to see which one make your character look best. It really have a huge different on how you look, I usually try all the setting before I took any picture. As for trying to take full body picture without making your AV look too far, you could try to spin your cam around abit and take picture from an angle. Hmm...better to just show you what I mean, here is example ![]() |

Looks nice. Sorry, I can't offer helpful suggestions like the others, just wanted to say I like it and to offer encouragement

I think it's a great shot, especially of the face. An excellent pic to use for your profile, where we'd rather see your face clearly anyway. You captured a great expression there, which is not always so easy in SL!

If you flip the camera down, and shoot from the knees, your avi shouldn't look too far away, and makes everything look nice. Professional photographers use that trick with models, I might get on tonight and show you what I mean.

Another trick is to shoot from further away and then crop down. This is the equivalent of using a longer lens on an RL camera. Perhaps there's a way to do this in the client and retain full resolution; that would be even better.
Faces generally look better when shot through a longer lens. For a head shot, a pro photographer would rarely use a lens shorter than 100mm (on a 35mm camera). The SL camera is probably equivalent of a 50mm or 35mm lens, so closeups cause the face to look more rounded and puffy than it should.
