So, I'd just like to share my story with everyone here. I'm Dev, and I'm new to SL. This is my second week in-world (or in-game, whatever you people say :P) and I'd like to share a scrapbook with you all.

Click this link to read my first scrapbook here, and enjoy what there is! I'll post all the rest of my logs here or continue to link them so you can see them with pictures.

This first one is a little skippity on the verbage, but I'll unshy myself after this one :)

Notes: No, I am not an alt. This is my first character. I'll tell you that going through the starting area at the beginning and following all the tutorials got me WAY ahead of the game (or so it seems :P)

I play SL about 8-10 hours a day.

I will NEVER, EVER use my paypal account or any other method of purchasing SL money for financial reasons (simply, I can't afford it).

I am single in real life.

I am attempting to emulate my real life self as much as possible in this, so I'm not putting up a facade or attempting to have an alter-ego.

Well, disclaimer out of the way, here you are!

Enjoy!

LOL
Playing 8-10 hours a day is what got you ahead of the game.

I hate you.
:-p

.....I'm just jealous

Haha, yeah, I guess playing in bigger time chunks helps out. It does tax me a bit on my real life (sleep schedule and stuff), but I'm able to balance work and SL pretty well so things seem to be okay :)

I envy you so extremely. From the looks of it, you're a natural builder. There's not really any other explaination to describe it.

By rule of thumb, your SL girlfriend is a 40-year-old fat dude in Montana in real life.

Dearly Darling,

Well done! However...the Grand Ma in me says you are too young for a girl friend. That said...Welcome to Second Life!

Ever Yours,

Haha, it was funny, we were out on a date, and I said "Okay, so are you some 35 year old 400 pound dude from San Francisco?"

lol.

Really impressive, both the building, the girlfriend and your looks.

Did you finish the hotel in the end?

Looks very good!

Also, what's wrong with 35 year olds????

Depends on who you're asking Lhor, us 40 year olds or them 30 year olds :P

I love the scrap book, I was thinking of doing the same thing... now I need just put a different spin on it :D

And to think how satisfied I was with my first builds.. You show real good progress in a relatively short amount of time, very impressive indeed! Nice looking hotel, and as someone else here said, you seem to have it naturally. I hope you are planning on staying around for a long time to come :)

I'm on hiatus from SL right now, some real life stuff came up (a different job, I manage a store downtown Portland now)

I'll get on asap... hopefully soon ^_^

The hotel:

The hotel WILL be completed, but I have an essential problem with finding land to build it on. I'll have to build it floor by floor, returning it to my inventory each step of the way, etc. It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'll draw up some interior sketches and what-not while I'm away and try to post them here when I can.

If you want to follow me out of game, which is fine with me, you can check out my myspace at www.myspace.com/daveriot and add me, but BE SURE to send me a message saying you're adding me due to Second Life connection, otherwise I won't know who you are and deny the friend add. I blog and stuff, and recently I'll try to be on more. I'm playing with a ton of ideas right now while not in Second Life, sort of recharging my creative batteries, if it were. Once I get all situated in real life, Second Life will take stage again!
