This is a building I based on the apse of the Romanesque church of St. Sernin in Toulouse. I placed some benches in the chapel spaces if anyone feels like chilling there while it lasts (Ohno 70, 100). It's not a Christian church, it's just modeled after one.

Whoa....!
I gotta check that out in-world!

BTW, did you use your (way cool) ringmaker and shapemaker tools to help build those?

LOL, something about that line just grabs me.

Looks excellent Cadroe -- I look forward to exploring it in three-dee.

Thanks! :)

Olympia, I used ShapeMaker but I used another tool even more, one which rezzes copies of any object into a circle. For instance, first I made one wall with a stained glass window. I linked that and put copies in a circle to form a chapel, then linked the chapel and put copies into a circle around the apse. I'm in the process of making this tool user friendly so I can offer it to people.

Torely, yeah, it does sound funny. But I didn't want people to mistake it for an actual place of worship. I always feel a little weird acting like a tourist inside churches, even when I know I'm supposed to. Although, if anyone wants a build like this to use as a church, I'd give it to them (or make a new one if we agreed on a cool RL model).

As a bit of an aside, today I went to the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in D.C. to see the traveling exhbit on the building of St. Peters. Mainly I wanted to see Michelangelo's 15 ft tall model of the dome, pictured below, although there were many other cool things. It was awesome, and now I wish I could find someone with a sim who wants a life-size replica of the dome :) It would just fit, and I think you could do it with under 15000 prims!

This build reminds me of the Pallazi build in Iaconetti (either of those words may be spelled horribly). I think it's by Siggy Romulus. There's also a museum there of old Euro paintings--Rembrandt, Caraveggio and others.

it's an art museum built by sulumor romulus. her and siggy have similar building styles though i would never say that out loud in public. doh

i believe william plans to house real world art on the lower levels and second life art on the upper levels. he's planning a grand opening sometime this month.

bot (is it bot "back on topic" or btt "back to topic?";), the aspe looks fantastic. i'll make time to drop by inworld and see it in person.
