Just curious, what is your network bandwidth setting in SL?
I see grey once in a while, but never, not even close, to what you see..so curious.

The thing I get a lot is in my own sim, with almost no load on it, my few friends that hang around... their clothing/skins don't show up after teleporting in from somewhere else. And they don't load until 1) they change clothes or 2) I TP out and in again. And even those don't always work. But I just attribute this to the weird cache errors that never seem to be resolved.

Well, I sold my big plot of land, about a quarter sim, a good while back, because the technical performance didn't merit paying for it. Sold the smaller plots of land I have had since then too. So at least I am not letting them sell the grayness to me, I get it for free.

Other peoples clothes not drawing is usually outfit composite setting too low in your graphic prefs, and grey texture usually bandwidth (or internet itself).
I find that if your bandwidth setting in sl is the default 300, you can bump that up a bit and the texture would then load, not always, but worth changing as a test.
