After spending loads of time on it, I am happy that I'm done with an early version. That's also why I feel obliged to how the thing off! :D

Here we go, version 0.2!

--edit: If you want to see it in 3D, there's an instance in Baku (137, 177)!

Sadly it wont be functional until we get Havok2, and even then it's questionable. :( The alpha version has already 46 prims. If Havok2 bumps up the prim limit a lot, or if there will be seperate collision models, I intend to make it drivable with a second seat for the turret (hopefully my scripting skills will be up to that with 1.6/1.7).

BAH just wear it as an attachment and make the BRRRRRRRRRRR Diesel engine sound while you are running around! :P

Model looks great! W00t!

Oh, hinges can do the job fine -- I've done it. But I might be the only one. I think I have the only attachment free working tank. :P I could be wrong though.

I think the treads and the damned turret eat the most prims. Especially the turret, had to use multiple prims to give it at least a bit of a trapezoid look as needed.

using joints prevents sim crossings.

My tank begs to differ. As does my old two part linked zeppelin.

Occasionally you might "Drop" through the sim for a moment, but it'll come back a moment later.

Me driving my tank across a sim boundry in oak grove. I also show that it is infact jointed. I had a perfect run as well, but didn't use it as I forgot to display the joints -- this is sitll better though, as it shows the type of trouble that happens. Which isn't that bad.
