Today I have unveiled a replica of the Horyuji pagoda. It's a 2600+ prims building that took me a long time to complete. You can see it in the Sandbox Island today. Enjoy!

Ah-ha! I saw that in the Sandbox earlier, and wondered who'd made it. Impressive work. :)

That is really neat. How much of it is based off of real life dimensions, references, etc?

Great Work!

Everything is to scale, as much as I could find on the net. The total height is within 2 meters.

I could not reproduce the inside at the bottom level due to the lack of photos available. But there are plaster sculptures depicting the life of Buddha hiding the central pole in the real one.

Great prim work! Usually -- not always -- replica means detailed textures on a low prim structure, but you've done a tremendous amount of work to get an authentic look even up close. I particularly like the interior view when my avatar stands on the ground floor, and looks straight up. That's real craftsmanship.

Thanks Traxx! Today, I've taken the white wall of the second level out so that everyone can better see the internal structure. Every beam and post are laid out as per a detailed plan I got from the net. Fortunately, each level is made of 4 identical sections. Just make one section, then copy & rotate in place.
