Recently I have been working on building the JWA Scion and a new fighter Called simply named The Hornet.

Its not an F18 like the name may seem to imply its named for its shape not for any military craft.

Nice design! It does indeed have a hornet-like look to it.

I have been working on some alternate texturing for them.

Once I get moved out of my current house and into the new one I will be back on schedule again.

When I do bring them out for sale I will be offering a Custom Texuring job based on if you want your own logo's or designs added to the ships for a cost.

Right now I simply have 4 base colors, Grey, Lt Grey, Blue and Rust.

Looks more like a harrier or JSF than an F18.

Very nice job, Shadow! Not to take away from your effort, but I'm curious, what is that build in the background?

I dont think he meant it to be the RL F-18 hornet more than created a plane he called hornet for himself.

Wow, this looks almost excatly like something I made a couple months back. Never did finish the texturing, the curved surfaces and cut face distortion was a little bit too irritating to fix.

Here, take a look.

Alek, that is uncanny, especially considering I have never seen that ship in SL, I was looking at different Ideas and one night when I was talking to Rickard he mentioned swept wing designs. I was going through some old Battle Tech stuff I had as I was packing to move and I came across a LAM. (Land Air Mech). I thought I like the way that design is and started from there but when the legs kinda made it prim Heavy. I decided the front looked good but I needed to come up with a Tail section that would be applicable and Viola the Hornet emerged.

How its name came about. My friend that was working on her project looked up and said hey that looks like a hornet while I was finishing it up. Ironically enough my mothers highschool's teams were called Hornets and I looked at the emblem they had and Yup sure enough it looked like their mascot outline thus its name.

Uncanny indeed, Looking at my orignial construction date, I made my first copy back on Dec 18. I think I've had a copy out in Natoma since around that time.

I will have to swing by sometime and take a look at it up close from what I see so far we have the same forward swept cannard design idea with the curved back.

Does yours fly? I mean is it scripted?
I'm only asking so we can compair notes on the designs since they seem to be a parrallel developement.
I don't hang out near Natoma since we left Lusk last November for Carlisle. Think the last time I was in Natoma was back in Beta and shortly there after in 2003.

Currently the Hornet is Powered by Rickard Roetegens Flight Script modified from his Hammerhead design by him.

The Hornet uses Mouse look flight as well as having a fully functioning Artificial Horizon and multiple throttle power settings.

Vehicle Tracking and Delete upon Pilot Eject systems.

Those are the current options but in the near future will have Weapons systems and colorizable settings. But those are in development at this time still.

Shadow.

As of now there is no substantian scripting on my aircraft, I've been absorbed with projects elsewhere. Perhaps I'll staple a picture of what I'm working on up here eventually.

We could go on and on about monkeys, typewriters and shakespeare, but the odds of this happening by coincidence seem dwindlingly small.
