Bearhammer Snapshots (43 pics, 1200x1600)

Well, it's been a while since I put up pictures of my work, and now that I've finished my terminators, I thought I'd take some pictures and show them to you. Enjoy!

For those of you who aren't famaliar with it, Bearhammer is the Warhammer 40,000 table top miniatures game, played inside SL, but with linden teddy bears.

And we're always looking for new players, especially if you play or have played 40k in real life. Feel free to IM me if you have any questions or comments.

Wow there is always something that comes out of left field that I just wouldnt have thought existed in SL.

These are amazing. I have never played warhammer 40k (too high of a high cost + time investment), but I have always been fascinated with the fiction as well as seeing the wonderful armies people have created and seriously enjoy viewing pictures their creations. These are no exception.

Do you guys actually play the game via scripting in the objects, or by using sl as the medium to move pieces and measure distances, and play the rest via chat and some random dice rolling?

I would definatly like to witness a game if this is something people do frequently. Are there any places to go to check out some of the bearhammer objects people have created?

Those are excellently-modelled. However, I must ask, where's the landmark to see these inworld? You know that as high-res as the pictures are, they appear comparatively flat!

Well, thanks for the kind words, if you're interested in seeing some of the models, someone is almost always building in the newcomb sandbox, and that's where we play our games as well. More and more often as we get more players, in fact.

...I used to absolutely love 40K when I was younger, got out of it for the reasons Hamaar mentioned, but these almost made me wish I hadn't. Props to you sir!

I've swooped past bearhammer games in progress. I don't play myself, but it's insanely cool to see the games going on. I'm actually surprised there aren't more miniatures wargames going on. Be nice to have a couple sims dedicated to that sort of thing, if there was the interest.

i'd like to join in, but i can never seem to catch a member online, or find out where this is all going on, ive allways loved warhammer but ive never actualy played the miniatures board game or w/e, but i did play that one really old pc version

You should try the new PC version, Dawn of War, it rocks soo hard.

Dawn of war got really boreing really fast, i'd like to play the origional version.

I'm not familiar with Warhammer, but I dropped by the sandbox the other day and saw this... wow, just wow. The level of detail is just amazing! The bear warriors are beautifully built.

WOW good job i must say on these models!! i used to play warhammer a long time ago... still have my dark angel army sittin in my closet haha.. i have to come by to see this in action!!
