Below is a short selection of the poetry that’s being written every week and submitted to the Club Vampira on Friday night. There were so many good poems I pretty much had to pick a few at random, so my excuses to the poets if I left your best one out! (Please anyone feel free to post your own work to this forum.) L$ 1,000 is the prize for the best. Two weeks ago Anwen Mccellan won the L$1k with this one:
Blood drips crimson,
Blood drips cold
Down those lips
That spoke so bold
Your words are hushed
I hear you no more
Your screaming silenced
Lost and ignored
You deemed yourself worthy
I found you no threat
My fangs sink deeper
I love you in death.
Fingertips clenched in hatred so sweet
abandon your cause
Hush your breath...In my arms...
Your last breath, your defeat.
Here are a few more of the many submitted:
Every color of the spectrum defined within,
The yellow of my fear come true
that of losing you.
The green of justified jealousy
of one who stole you away.
The vivid deep blue
of every day without you.
The purple of the passion
that became out of fashion.
The red of the fire
of which you did tire.
The rainbow of my tears
Is the death shroud of my heart
A warming chill upon my soul
Whispering ...
Echoing...
Our time together is at an end.

During the day we work and play
Toil and toil, for that special day
what happens when that day dont come?
We give up hope and turn to Rum
so a lesson to thee about fun and glee
dont hold your faith in what you cant see

.........Gloomy girl........
Hey child I see you walking late at night down by the graveyard with your cat by your side.
I wonder where you go to bid the day goodnight
perhaps visit your loved ones , where you place black roses by their bed.
Hey child your a strange little girl
With a dark gloomy mood and a half evil smile
No one knows your story but their mystified
Dear little one with your pale skin and sad dark eyes.

Do they help millions who are dying in the streets?
Do they care that they have nothing to eat?
How many people have to die for them to say retreat?
Why do they burden themelves with these inhumane acts?
They burden the people with very high tax
They are not looking for heavenly peace
For them our young boys are disposable like trash
Soon the whole system will eventually crash
Dont you know; this is their way of population control.
What can we do ?
For we are but a few
They have powerful weapons
They could take us out one by one and two by two
This is their way to construe.
Whos side are they on?
It certainly isn't ours
Its for there own motives
As they drive there expensive cars
Live in there mansions
And wear there Armani suits
If they sold them all they could save the world from hunger.
Kinda makes you wonder?

The End
Inadequecy with life
But it goes on the same
Everythings content untill you feel shame
And you start wondering why
It has to be this way
Happy one second
Sad the next
It's so confusing
What we think and say
If Bliss was everyday
Everthing would be ok
But it's not
And your so lost
And tired of playing games
Simple thoughts turned to migraines
A headache with no end
Constantly eating and nagging you
And you become your worst best friend
Nothing seems as thrilling
When your waiting for The End
The Beginning
Then just like new
Bliss on tap
For the strong and pure
A life filled with love and joy
A life so proud and sure
Happiness everlasting
When nothing wrong feels wrong
And there's no more pain to cure

(Two-Part Poem)
LIZZY MORAN
I STAND WATCH,
FOR I KNOW NOT WHAT AM LOOKING FOR ,
CONFUSED IN MYOWN SELF HATRED ,
I STAND WATCH,
I SEE WHAT LOOKS LIKE,
AN ANGEL WITH BROKEN WINGS,
HE WALKS TOWARDS ME
AND I KNOW NOT WHAT HE WANTS,
HE WHISPERS WORDS THAT CANNOT REACH ME
AND I YELL WORDS HE CANNOT HEAR,
BEYOND MY WHITE COLD WINTER
I SEE THE SUN
BUT IT SHINES NOT FOR ME
NOT YET AT LEAST,
IT SHINES FOR THE BEAUTIFULL CREATURE BEFORE ME,
ALL THAT IS MINES ARE THESE HOLLOW TREES
AND ALL I KNOW ARE MY EMPTY DREAMS
HE TRIES WITH HIS HANDS TO TOUCH ME
BUT IM NOT THERE
CAUSE IM TOO FAR FOR HIM TO CARE
SO HE TURNS AND WALKS AWAY
AND I AM LEFT IN MY ON WORLD
TO THINK OF A SUN
THAT I MUST NOW HATE
~~coming to a close~~
Keep the light away, and hope dead
Don't tell me it's alright, when I know you're a lying sack of shit
Don't treat me like a friend, I loathe you
If you get close, don't be surprised if i get disturbed
I want to make the world suffer;
The way it's supposed to
Oppressed by the ordinary, I walk alone
Into the abyss of self deprecating hate
I have taken the darkest path, the one that leads to destruction
I know this is my destiny, and as such it must be fulfilled
The torment of my thoughts bring nightmares alive
And the dillusion of love, self inflicted agony
Stay away from me, and don't pretend you care
I am what I have become, beaten to a pulp
Be warned before you get too close,
Or like me, become a disturbed soul

Always.......
.....in my heart
right from the very start
.....a true friend
to see you to the end
.....there when you fell
to pull you from the fires of hell
.....by your side
with a love I tried to hide
.....wanting to be
the one to set you free
.....wanted to let you know
the feelings I tried not to show
.....knew it would be you and me
dreaming you would someday see
Just when I was about to let "always" go
You came back to let me know
I was......
always in your heart
right from the very start.
My sweet kisses on her back
She starts to snap back
The raised vein on her neck
Promise her its just a peck
Crimson blood my lips
Into my world she slips
Vampire blood of my kin
Cant stop but to sin

And she came to watch me bleed.
Into flames, sin-innocence.
Erotic as a vulture as she stares me down.
Stabbing with her eyes she carves a piercing wound.
Is my end a start with her deep sharp eyes?
Kniving within edging my stone cold heart,
Severed by a rhythm two worlds depart.
She suckles my blood, burning drinking my life.
Blood lust thirsty tingling my spine.
Her black trenched coat unfeathered wings.
Swinging her hips as she plays my strings.
And like a love sick song, I bled farewell to arms.
She said, "dream the rest of whats left."
And down I laid to sleep it off.
I awoke to taste an immortal life.
Then I awoke again unsure,
With a brush in hand and her
painted in my book.
Puppets on heartstrings.
I can hear you all weeping
Smile, and feel nothing.
-Wanders Nowhere as Dracula
We wander endlessly through the night
We sleep all through the day
No one notices as we stroll by
The thirst of blood is in our veins
Heaven knows we cannot change
Our ageless beauty
Hidden desires
Although they think we have expired
We are very much alive
