Discovery of an Egyptian Tomb

Running my fingers through my hair I wiped the sweat from my eyes. The reed boat dropped me off at a small river and my earnest guide pointed ahead. Straining my eyes by looking through the sun's glare off surrounding sand dunes I spot a unique structure.

Tall stone walls rose some twenty feet off the valley's floor. Atop the structure, for so I assumed it to be, was the remnants of ancient sand dunes. Resting on the flattened sand dune was a Sphynx guarding two small pyramids. Four basalt obilisks were at each corner of the structure.

Travelling along the river I approached this behemoth structure, for structure it proved to be. An ancient Egyptian temple where I never thought to find one. Wonderously inspired I rushed forward.

A corridor led deep inside the temple to a darkened doorway. My heart seized with trepedation when I saw the doorway. It appears as if tomb robbers have beaten me to this find as the stones have been pulled away leaving a jagged opening. A huge stone relief of a buzzard guards the secrets within.

Thanks Ari!! I really appreciate the kind words. Hmm, how long. I have been working on it for about three weeks with lots of destruction and construction as I tried different things. If you visited you probably saw that I have an area that is still a "blank" canvas. I currently use that for my sandbox but in the near future I'm going to turn it into a replica of a dig site.

If you visited, did you find the secret room? I'm curious about how difficult it is to find.

Your hard work has paid off, it is truly an impressive site! I was really blown away by the magnitude of it.

Archeology and ancient history is a passion of mine and they seem to have seeped into SL! Can't wait to see the dig site when you're done It will be all of the fun and none of the bugs and heat! LOL!

If you're interested, I just finished my first build. It's a very small site with ruins, cave paintings and info on an ancient "mystical" (and mythical) civilization I created. I'd love to hear your opinion (Empress Isle).

Now off I'm off to find that "secret chamber"!
