Is there a way to slow down an avi while he's walking (decreasing the distance he goes with each step), like for example when dragging a heavy weight behind him?

There is an option on the Advanced menu which allows you to run animations in slow motion. Otherwise you need a bespoke animation tocreate the effect you want.

but I would like to slow down the actual movement in-world, by taking smaller steps and let the avi advance less in distance. When you upload a slow walk with smaller steps, your avi slides ahead half of the time …

I don't think you can actually change the walk speed per se - you can only give the illusion of walking more slowly, but the actual dstance moved doesn't change.

You can however script slower walking. By taking controls and moving the avatar programatically.

If you hold down the space bar while walking you slow down your walk and don't travel as far. It's in one of the Torley tips.

Maybe if Ilya posted on the scripting forum, there may be some more suggestions. EDIT - Yes it does work - my fault - you need to make sure the local chat bar is closed. I was just typing spaces.

You have to start walking and then hold down the space bar. I've read before that this was broken so I'm not sure if it's still there with the latest client.
