Is it possible to "link" two avatars somethow? For example, have a set of animations that is one person carrying another. If you could wear pose-balls this would be ideal, but attachments have no sit target. (and thanks to the people who placed poseballs on their heads and walked around looking like idiots so I could test that. *smiles*)

There are a few already... there is a hand holding animation that two can walk , and also a flying one... those two are sold at abranimations.
There are also a few others which work amazingly well... the piggy back one and the carry over the threshold one. I have all of them and the carry over the threshold works the best of all, there is also a walk called loving walk which work, however u cannot climb stairs with that.... but its great when u want to ice skate together. Those are sold at le cadre.

The specific request I got was to allow someone to ride a taur-style furry, so I suspect I'll need to make a riding pose (unless one of the built-in animations works) and tack that onto a linked-pose script. If I use some-one elses code I'm happy to give them full rights to whatever I come up with, I don't want to get into the animation-selling business.

Anyone can't sit on your attachment. You sit on one object which linked another object and someone can sit on the another one. Those linked objects allow you to move like a vehicle.

I made all the animations for this a while back, but gave up looking for a scripter after several days of wandering without success lol.
It was a piggy back. I made four poses, as i think thats what youd need eh.
Man static. Man walking. Female static. Female walking.
If you ever find the scripting for this, i'd appreciate a lending hand so that i can finish this unfinished piece. Geez i have so many unfinished things!
PS. from the research i did do, Seagel is spot on. A vehicle like script is the ONLY way this can be done.

Scripty Script

The only tough part about these is finding the vehicle script that lets you walk smoothly.. I really stink at the vehicle stuff.. But I think we're in dire need of a new Havok engine.
I do have the Pony Linden notecard with all the goodies in it including the vehicle script they used to make pony move.. I'm pretty sure it's full perms thanks to Ben Linden who created it. At least I think it was Ben.
Anyone who was questioning how to do it will have it waiting on them in SL when they log in..

And off-topic, but I hate vehicles; a flight assist script lets me move just as fast and with far more control. A typical vechicle ride involves me fighting for control and ending up 3 sims over. So a new Havok engine would be nice.

Looks like the ride attachment handles the controls and it's no mod/no copy.. =-(
And you'll have to take out the part where it only let's pony linden ride.. grr..
