I´m a new member and I got to the island where I can walk around and get introduced to how SL works. But now, when I sign in(no probelms there), I can´t find it. What do I do wrong. I downloaded the program and it worked. Now I am currently using a public computer at an internet cafe but, I can´t seem to move past this point. Any help?

if you mean the orientation island, then once you leave it for the mainland, you can't go back. However, the orientation stands are duplicated in Yamato in Dore.

Bad planning on Linden Lab's part... you can only go to that place ONCE. Duh.
Anyway, there are copies of all that in the main world...
I just spent 5 minutes searching the "Find Places" for it but can't find them. Maybe someone else knows?

You mean you can't log into Second Life? That's a different thing... It's possible that the public computer isn't able to run SL, or that you don't have the privilages to even install it...
Exactly what is the error you're getting?

Well I installed it on another machine, and I don´t have the green hand symbol on this machine, so is that the reason?

It would sound that way. As well as the server side, you need the client (the green hand if you like) on each pc you play it from.

OK, so we solved the problem. Now the symbol is ona public computer( no problems installing it), but what if the admin. cleans up and uninstall? Do I have to sign up again?And basically start from scratch every time?

You don't have to sign up each time, since you have a username and password for the servers...
But it will be slower than on your own pc, due to it having to load all the textures each time the admins remove it and you re-install.

yep, or install the software on a new one... you can use the same name and password... no need to re-sign up
