Hello, I'm new to animating and dont know too much about avimator. I was able to create an animation but it only takes 3 frames to play it and it gives me 30 frames, how do I shorten the amount of frames so that it only has 3?
I dont want to copy and paste my 3 frames 30 times haha

in the bottom right hand corner, where it lists the numebr of frames, set it to 3.
be advisd that 3 frames (even plus the starting frame) seems like it'll be REALLY fast for an anim.

Remember that 1 second of animation is 30 frames. SL allows an animation up to 900 frames (30 seconds).

but can't you change the FPS to be slower? or is it an unchangeable FPS in world? I know that in Avimator you can change the FPS

You can always try http://qavimator.org/ and see if this user interface suits your needs.

In QAvimator, changing the frame rate affects the animation speed in-world. I don't know about avimator, but I guess it works there, too.

So it's OK to have an odd fps in an animation? Like if I changed the fps in my animation to 25, does SL care? It does seem to work in-world, just wondered if it affects performance on the client.

It does seem to work in-world, just wondered if it affects performance on the client. actually i'm not sure but it sounds to me like you have a timing problem right? like something is not moving fast enough that you think should? your approaching the problem very backwards, altho the option to do is there change your FPS, which would change your animation speed, your going against the grain here badly and are going to confuse yourself more and more. What you need to do is either scrap the animation or edit it because 30 FPS is a universal standard on all the commercial programs, when dealing with animation. your going to create all kinds of problems for yourself and confuse yourself more in the future instead of working with 30 FPS and learning the timing of this- your always going to be tempted to change it, when you should be getting instinctively better at timing with 30FPS, this takes much practice, and anyones first animations are never very good.. you should just rework it and not change the FPS at all.. Its worth just to start all over because you learn from it anyway.. it takes many animations sometimes you have to just start over sorry i cant help better but changing the FPS is crazy
