Has anyone else expericenced problems while using Samantha's MEL .bvh exporter and rotating the lower_spine_control?

If my character is in the horzintal position and I rotate the lower_spine although it looks fine in maya when I import the ani instead of the pelvis moving as it should, the whole body rotates.

I've not used that bvh exportr, but it sounds to me like it is converting what in Maya is the "lower spine" to the HIP joint in the SL avatar skeleton. The HIP joint rotates the whole body. The problem could be one of correctly mapping the Maya figure skeleton to the SL avatar skeleton.

Deira, thanks for the response. The rig I’m using is the one that’s posted here is this forum:

I’ve been using this for several months now and never experienced this problem in the past. Although I can’t say for sure that I have rotated the lower_spine_control while in the horizontal position as most of my previous animations are dance type with the character vertical.

I believe the mapping is correct and what is strange is that this is occurring late in the animation with the earlier parts working fine. It’s only when I move my character from the vertical to horizontal position that the problem occurs.

I’ll go back in and test with a few more animations to see if this always happens. Thanks again for the reply and it does sound as if the hip is being rotated instead of the lower spine.
