Perms issues with anims for gestures

Hi all.

I have a nice little business in world mostly selling animations I have created for myself. (Please check out my store in FurNation Mall East 9). As well as AO I have a lot of anims that I use in gestures and expect my customers to use them to do the same.

All my stuff is mod/copy/no trans.

The trouble is that SL won't let you use someone elses anim in a gesture unless it has full perms. Naturally, it would be foolish to sell stuff full perms so that's no option.

I'm sure it never used to be a problem. Is this a new 'feature' or have I overlooked something?

I could sell gestures with the anims within them... but if the customer then accidentally deletes the anim line in whilst editing the gesture then it's gone for good.

Any views?

I believe it is an old 'feature'. You might want to look in-world at how different gesture stores are selling their gestures. I'd say be prepared to replace a few broken gestures. I don't think it would happen too often.

Thanks Bree. The thing is that some customes may =not= want to use it as a gesture... and a lot of the anims loop so I'd have to have a start gesture and a stop gesture. It would be so much easier if you could take a bought no trans anim and be able to actually use it.

Plus... I don't understand what the advantage is of programming SL that way. :D
