creating gestures

I am running a macbook OS 10.4.1, and I want to start creating gestures. I was told to try avimator but to no avail...I downloaded and it will not run on my system, it just doesnt open from the applications menu. Is there another free avatar animator that I could download...Secondly, what is a good program for the audio portion and what is the best way to marry the two and upload to SL...I know it's a lot, but if anyone has any good links and or advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Avimator should work: http://www.avimator.com/downloads/Avimator-0.4.1.dmg
But not Qavimator.

I am on Mac OS 10.5.4

I did download Avimator from there, but when I copy the contents into a folder in my applications tab, from the DMG nothing happens when I double click the avimator app.
