I have recieved a few request from people asking if I could make my animations in to gestures. To my knowledge and experience, a gesture is just an animation. Am I missing something? Is there something I need to do for people to use them as gestures? I use many of my animation in my gestures and never had a problem. I get this question at least once a day and not always from newbies.

But thats what LL elected to do rather than address a potential security issue. E.g. custom animations are useless for gestures. Which was half the point of why we wanted them.

Now I am in a bind, because if I have to make them tranfer/copyable, I am going to charge a lot more than the $10 per animation I currently sell them for. Does LL plan on addressing this issue?

Or you could sell the gestures with the animations already in it. Reverie has two gestures that I bought. They're either no copy or no transfer. But I can modify them to type different triggers to activate it. A friend of mine also gave me a gesture with the sound clip already in it. Both work for me even if I dont have the actual animation or sound in my inventory. I don't know what the risks are in selling these as gestures. I just know that the no copy or no transfer gestures I have work for me.

I make gestures upon request for customers, and set them to be no copy but modifyable as well so that they can change the trigger command or add in anything else they want. The down side to selling only gestures is the animations can't be used in dance bracelets/animation overrides then. It's a frustrating problem, and I wish LL would address it. Definitely don't sell your animations as copyable and transferable, that is not the solution.
