Make sure if you did below.
From: someone
1-1. Did you get the latest updates of your Poser?
1-2. Did you download and prepare for using SL Avatar?
2-1. Did you set the default T pose on the 1st frame?
2-4. Did you press "Scale Automatically" when uploading?

hmm... odd.
I want to look. Can you upload that pz3 file here? Uploading it here, you need to zip it first though.

Hmmm, I continue to get the same "cannot gain rotation values" message as well. What am I doing wrong??? I am using Poser 6, have at lesat 2 frames in the animation, save it, export using BVH, try to uploda.. no workee.

Any guidance and help would be most appreciated...

I don't know why ppl hesitate to upload their animation files. It is the fastest thing to see what is wrong. :D

Ok, if you tried above all and couldn't make it, try to save your animation as a pz3 file first and load it again. And then try to export it into bvh. It is a charm. :p

All I can tell you is this... :o

Did you touch that first frame? SL drops that first frame but it uses it to get all it's starter values for the animations. From experimenting if you do much to that first frame it will stop it from being able to be uploaded. Try leaving the first animation as default, key frame it and the next frame and try again.

Thanks for the advice... I am now past the rotation message, so thought I was there.. but now received a message saying "failed to initialize motion"....

Any thoughts on this issue? I'm confused as it seems as if it should work...

Again, thanks for the help...

If you tripped at the first frame, you'd better doubt it much. Open Parameter Dials and make sure all values of all parts at the first frame. They must be "0" except scales whose value 100%. Although those values are sometimes changed as an advanced technique, it is safe that you set all values to "0".

Folks...

Thanks so much for all of the advice. Unfortunately, I have tried all of the things listed here--saving first and reopening, leaving 1st frame at default, and even resetting 1st frame values as Seagal suggests. I am still unable to upload, however, still receiving the Failed to Initialize motion message.

I have updated to the latest SR as well, but still no dice. I am basically setting up using 3 frames, given SL's removal of the first, leaving 2 for the bvh file. I have tried key framing the 1st and 2nd frames only, as well as all three, but still cannot get it to work.

Still lost, so if anyone can lend even more advice, despite me being a pain in the ass with this thread, it is much appreciated.

If you would really like to solve your problem, plz upload the relevant animation's pz3 file HERE.
1. You need to zip the pz3 file first.
2. Press the Manage Attachments button in Additional Options, this forum editor below.
3. Select the file and press upload.

I had this last night and solved it

I too had the same error, I read all these instructions and upgrade the SR, but is was still failing.

It turned out I was uploading the old file all the time, the new file I saved after loading SR2 worked perfectly.

Not saying this is your issue, but it was a real DOH! for me when I realised I was uploading the wrong file all time.

Cheers

Paul, your suggestion might get the timing right. To tell the truth, I suggested exact the same way at #6 article of this thread. But if he had upgrade after my suggestion, he might be still going to upload the file he had created by his buggy non upgraded Poser.
