Im actually working on few prototype that will allow us to work on short movie with the SL engine. The first one is about 'lip synch' and I realize that its a chalenge to make something convincing. Here is my first result, the result is far from the perfection, but its a a starting point. My objective is to get your comments/critics to find an effective method to create lip synch inside SL. lip_synch_018.mov (require Quicktime) Old test: lip_synch_017.mov (require Quicktime) Actual workflow : 1. Create the head movement using Poser and exporting at 50% speed (slow motion). 2. Importing this animation inside SL and synch it with the sound track that is at slow motion too. 3. Create a series of gestures using the actual facial expression of SL (phenomes) 4. Shooting the sequence and try (as much as possible) to play the appropriate phenomes. The hard part is to make a convincing lip synchronisation using the built-in facial expression. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me hint on that. Note : Ty to Web Page for the facial expression system

but can the sound be linked well enough to the motion to ensure sync all the time?

Tell SL to buy out There's Avatar lip-synching and then we'll be getting somewhere... It may not be perfect but its better than the pantomime we have in world now LOL
