Tongues--G Rated

Can an avi be animated to stick out his/her tongue? If you are an animator and can do this, PLEASE IM me, as I am in need of an animation that includes this (totally G rated I swear)!! THANKS!!!

Sticking out tongue is one of the built-in facial emotes - you can grab an emoter HUD and you'll be able to do this. I know there are some free ones around but XstreetSL (formerly SLX) isn't letting me search at the moment. If you have a look I'm sure you can find one. Good luck!

Thanks Madhu! So that means it IS possible! Terrific...now I need an animator who is willing to incorporate that into a custom animation.

It can't be 'incorporated' per se. It can be part of an animation - as in, when you upload the animation, you tell SL to include the 'stick tongue out' expression. And SL will stick the tongue out only for as long as it decides, starting at the start.

A more reliable way to stick the tongue out when you want it would be to make a gesture. Get your custom animation, and make a new gesture. Start the animation right at the start, put a wait in for however many seconds or fractions of seconds you want, then start the 'stick tongue out' animation.

If you want the tongue stuck out for longer, repeat the stick tongue out animation in the gesture.


The third option is to write a script, which you'd do if you wanted to trigger it from a HUD or attachment or an in-world object. It would work similarly to the gesture (but not be as easy for non-scripters.)
