Is there something like a user manual or even some detailed explanations as to what exactly all the options are and what they are/should be used for on import into SL? How is one supposed to get this info? Osmosis? :D I love doing the anims and would love to know exactly what all the options on the anim import screen are and what they can be used for. Thanks!

::going from memory::

prioirty: this affects how certain ingame animation states will override (or not) the animation you are using... set it to zero and your animation will only override the stand state. set it to 4 it'll keep playing regardless of if you are sitting, standing, flying, whatever. (note this only affects key frames, if you remove key frame for a particular part that part will obey the ingame state)

preview while: this works in conjunction with priority to show you how your animation will look if it's played while an avatar is in the state you pick.

loop: check this box if you want the animation to repeat itself
in: this is the point you want the loop to start at
out: this is the point where the animation goes back to the begining of the loop (never tested anything but 100, dunno if it ever plays anything after this)

hand position: this is the hand position to use while the animation is running, you want to set this to relaxed most times

emote(?): this is the facial expresion/stance you want the avatar to use during the animation (? I forgot the name of this control)

lead in: this is the time you want you avatar to take moving from whatever pose it's in, to your animation (.3 works good for most things) if you don't use this your avatar will snap into your animation, and look bad.

lead out: this is the time your avie will take to move from the pose in your last frame, into whatever pose state it's in when your animation stops. set this even if you use loop since the avie won't be using the animation forever, and you don't want you avie to snap into the normal pose.

I think that's all of it

PS to answer your question, I dunno how people are supposed to learn this stuff either, except to fool around with it and read these boards alot.... so yeah, osmosis =)
