Any way to modify AO script to correct ground sit problem?

I've been browsing a bit in this forum, and seen a few threads that mentioned similar problems to mine, but I'm not sure how it can be corrected.

I recently bought a few new poses for my AO, and once I had them loaded, I noticed that the ground sit pose puts me about a foot above the ground. When I go back to the default ground sit, it works fine. The poses have been on sale for quite some time, and are from a first-class maker, so I can't imagine the problem is with the pose itself. (My other AO anims are just fine.)

I'm using the ZHAO overrider, which (I think) uses the Franimation script, if that's any help. My question is, is there any way to modify the script so that the ground sit will be at the correct level? Or, is there anything else I can do to correct the problem? Thanks!

You should be able to change the offsit, however the problem isn't in the script, the problem is in the animation itself =/

Edit to add: Often times animations weren't made or intended to be used in an AO, I know I have done some that don't work well with AO's in the passed... but I assure you , it IS the animation causing this, not the script... hope that helps :)

Same here. My AO has a button on the HUD to turn off the sitting AO portion manually. I notice sometimes my sits are not in the right place when there is already a pose built into the seat.

Rats, was afraid of that... can I add anything to the Franimation script to make that one anim play at a lower height? Or should I just get used to levitating? :D

Well if you change it, you will need to do it each time which can become a pain, if you are that passionate about that paticular sit you can ask the animator to fix it, or you can send me a picture in world and I can try to remake it for you...

As Sensual explained, the AO script has no control over the offset built into the animation, all it does is tell SL "play this animation". If you're sitting on an object, then things are a little different - the script in the object can tell SL "play this animation, and position the av here". That applies to poseballs, furniture, etc. - in those cases, the script can adjust for the animation's built-in offset. But with an AO, it has no control over the object you're sitting on. And this is the ground sit anyway, so there *is* no object you're sitting on :)

Try this as a test to see if it's really the anim:

* Take the ground sit anim out of the ZHAO
* Detach the ZHAO, or turn it off
* Sit on the ground
* Now manually play the ground sit anim from your inventory

You'll probably see yourself levitate.
