ok i am annoyed by this for a long time allready, but took it as a given sl flaw.
maybe i am just missing something here.

i am working on a bunch of fighting animations, some are jumping animations.
in some animations the figure in poser jumps up 2 meters, but in sl only 1m.
the same goes for x and y offset of the hip.

it only happens in some animations, and sometimes (not often, and i have no idea why) changing somthing small in poser corrects the offset problems.

this causes a lot problems with ik (when the hip in poser moves 1 meter forward, but in sl only .5m the feet will go back .5 meters).

i use poser 6.
i used to work with 3 max for allmost 10 years, should i try to setup a biped to work there or is it an sl problem, and not caused by poser?

i may have found a solution. will test more to make sure it wasnt coinsidense (sorry for bad english ;)

i had attachments in poser to help with orientation, when i removed them the animation imported correctly into sl...

In my experience hip offset when uploading animations is totally random. First it never fits with your program offset from ground (i use Poser 7), second any hip movement counts: rolls and so on...And third i experienced flaws in hip positions even when changing another bodypart!
Example: make a pose, import and put in a poseball for testing. then i change a leg position...reimport the pose and put inside the same poseballs replacing the old one.
the ball is still rezzed in the same position inworld....And the offset position is about 0.5 mt upper or lower than the previous one.
:(
