Is walk and standing animation attached to PRIM skirt possible?

Hi,

I don't whether or not this is the right place for my question, but i try:

When I wear one of my really wide danceskirts, my hands disappear inside that prim skirt when I stop walking.
I was wondering if it is possible to have a dedicated walking and standing animations attached to such prim skirt. Kind of similar like one will see e.g. for shoes.
In such animations my arms should be bent slightly, so my hands should no longer disappear inside the skirt. lol

Does such animations exists? Can those animations be attached to a skirt? Should I ask the dressdesigner to develop such, or can such animation still be attached to this skirt afterwards by myself?

TIA,
Girl-with-disappearing-hands.

I sell a variety of stand animations for AOs with arms in various raised positions (folded, pensive etc.) or I would be happy to make something bespoke for you. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to put these into an alternative AO set in ZHAO for example. Then switch over to it "on the fly" when you are wearing your wide skirts. You could then use an alternative walk and sits as well, if that's necessary. Feel free to IM me.

1) Suzi answered this.

2) Yes. As you say, it's just like with walk animations in shoes. An AO is a prim with scripts and animations attached to you somewhere, so any prim that attaches to you will do.

3) It depends on if the skirt is mod enabled. If it is, then you can drop an AO script and your animations into the skirt. If it is not mod, then only the creator of the skirt can modify the contents.

3B) If it isn't mod, then you can just put the anim and AO into another object and wear that as well (an invisible box for eg)

Frankly, for folks without AO, I suspect it's better to put a single-purpose AO script in the dress, so when worn it changes the standing animation. Ideally it has a click-menu to turn the feature on and off, so that folks with AO can turn it off and use their AO instead. Or not.

The simple answer is, yes, it's doable, and yes, it's a good idea, especially if the anim you put in the dress is any good.

Wow, there is certainly a market opportunity here, lol
One of my friends was wondering about this. She is having the same problems. And i bet, we are not the only one's having this issue.

It's good to know there are several solutions.
Myself, i am using the CGBG HUD overrider, so i need to figure what what to do best.
I prefer the idea having the animation in the dress, but maybe i should swith to another overrider and put it in there to solve this issue and have even more walking animations available.

Suzi, i will contact you soon.
Thanks for all your replies.
