Im curious, I know any script can cause lag or stress on the sim its running in; does animations contribute at all? For a project Im working on I can do it with a animation or a scripted item (item being easiest way) and Im try decide how do this.

Thanx :)

No, because animations work on each cliant side. Scripts cause stress on the sim while running. AO may work for every 0.2 secs to know your avatar's current state. It depens on how to play your animation.

animations do not. You have to download them but they're not as large as a texture.

But now, for the gotcha :). Animation Overriders can be a little hard on sims. Not crash them bring them to their knees hard though, and in most cases the AO will react slow rather than make the sim react slow. but they can be pretty script intensive. a new Franimation Overrider or Wet Icon, should be fine. Hard to test because attached scripts don't show up in the top 10 scripts list for estates. You'd have to modify one so that it would work on you while it was detached to really see how much script time it's using.
