Hey all,

hope someone can shed some light on this - i have made some anims with poser and (just poses really - 2 frames, one the bone structure - one the pose)

When i upload them - they work fine - but i want the av to be able to still move their head by alt-click on the surroundings... my heads are locked in place - is there anything i can do about this? I have tried different priorities but not gotten the result i am looking for -

suggestions?

hopefully yours,
a most-confused animator

Trent,

What you have to do to accomplish this is to go into the keyframe editor (click the key icon at the bottom right). Look on the left hand side for the word Head and select that row across all the frames except frame 1 and press the Delete key on your keyboard. You know you have done it correctly if you only have a green box in the cell for frame 1, but not the other frames for the Head row. This will give you what you want - it has nothing to do with the priority, it has to do with the head being posed. Be warned that this does not always work on every pose - sometimes you get the Linda Blair effect, but 9 times out of 10 it works beautifully.

ah great! thanks man!

so essentially i am taking out all keyframes (save the dirst) for the head - so that the anim plays no keys for the head - leaving it free to pose about inworld :)

off to try this now - i thought it might be something like that - but didnt want to experiment all day - figured someone had doe this already :)

thanks again - i'll report my results!

works beautifully!

I also noticed that if you remove the NECK keyframe as well - you get a broader range of motion for the head -You can't look up and down very well with only the head KF removed.

little tip for anyone else who reads this! Enjoy!

thanks again Cristiano!

I am glad it worked for you :) I often remove the neck keyframe as well - it depends on the pose, again otherwise you get the Linda Blair headspin thing lol.
