snapping last frame

I just made an animation that looks great in Poser, but something really frustrating is happening when I bring it into SL. In the upload window when I preview it, I notice that the chest isn't moving right toward the end. Rather than a smooth back and forth movement, it simply moves forward continuously, when at the last frame it snaps back.

As I said, this looks fine in Poser (both in the poser file and when I import the bvh back in.) What could be causing this? I want to loop it, but can't because of the snap on the last frame.

This is, saddly, another one of the 'known' issues that has no ETA on. It seems to have something to do with spline interpolation and the way SL compresses animations.

I'm currently in talks with Torley on this and the hand morph issue. She is being quite helpful with pushing for this bug to be fixed. The biggest problem is repeating this issue. I've only had 2 animations do it, and have only heard of a few other people who have come across it. If you could send an IM to Torley and explain the exact problem you found and send her a copy of the anim so she can see for herself and pass it on to the animation Lindens. I've always found that the more people who report it helps move it from no ETA to critical bug that will be worked on.

For a simple fix right now that might not look as nice, I've found that it only happens when moving the hips. You might try not moving them (if possible) or lessen the movement.

Thanks for the info. I will do both those things (ie. send Torley the animation I'm trying to upload, and try simplifying to just arm movement to see if that helps.)

Hi, just confirming I got your email, Johan, and I'm definitely going to include the attached animation you sent me and your comments in the open project file we have on it.

Just like Luth mentions; I'd really like to help advocate to the devs that this is important for animators, especially if many of you are bothered by this (and from what I've seen, since it goes back months that I'm aware of, it *is*!).

So anyone else affected should directly email me: torley@lindenlab.com with a detailed description of what you've experienced -- likely similar to this but it all helps.
