So, in Qavimator there is a choice to always preserve the first frame, which is really great right? Is there something similar in Poser?

Maybe this is an instance where i should learn to use Pose Dots?

Anyway, just curious whether there is some sort of "Save First Frame" feature in Poser. Thanks for any help!

You can save the first frame T-pose into the Poser Library and use it from there, or you can use a pose dot. The pose dots are most useful for temporary storing of a pose whilst you are working. With the frame holding the pose you want to save showing in the doucment window, just click on an empty pose dot and that pose will be saved there. To delete a pose from a pose dot - hold down the Alt key and click on the dot. To use a pose from a pose dot, just click the dot and the pose will be copied to the frame you are on.

(For anyne who hasn't found the pose dots yet - they are at the bottom left of the Pose Screen - there is a drop down arrow that normally opens at UI Dots - click on the drop down arrow and select Pose dots. You then have a bank of 9 dots in which you can store poses.)

Or you can save the pose dot for other things. Go to frame 1 -> Edit drop down menu -> restore -> figure. Or just shift+ctrl+F. It'll restore the pose on the frame you are on to the default T-Pose.

thanks for the responses! :)

i'm loving the pose dots and generally uber-impressed with Poser and its complexities. what is working for me (since I seem to forget easily, after working with Qavimator for a bit, about that first frame) is edit the general preferences to make the SL body open up when i open Poser, and automatically have it set to frame 2. I also put the T-frame in my first pose dot.

Will have to use the Restore function a little more to get used to it, I supposed I'm just averse to using menus... because I keep noticing that there is no "save" icon (unless i'm totally dense. which is quite possible), although i haven't dug around much looking for one.
