I'm fairly new to all of this, but I managed to put together a pretty good first attempt. BUT. . .I'd like to extend the time spent in a static portion that occurs in the middle of the animation.
Is there a way to do this in Avimator or Qavimator?

I use avimator and to add frames you change the value at the bottom right corner that says '1 of 30'. This method adds frames to the end. I don't know of a way to insert frames. The only way I know to add frames into the middle is to make a whole new bvh file. You can cut a keyframe from the old bvh and paste it to the new bvh at any frame number. So basically just rearrange your keyframes in a new bvh file that contains more frames.
If there's an easier way I'd like to know too. _____________________

Inserting / Deleting and otherwise editing keyframes is hot on my todo list for qavimator. Be sure to use "Options / Show Timeline" for basic timeline editing and moving of single keys. This might already help you, as long as you save your work as .avm files before exporting them to .bvh and Second Life.

Thanks folks. I DO understand that Avimator is an abandoned project, and Qavimator is a work in (early) progress. Good luck with it Zi, and I'll try your suggestions.

Thanks folks. I DO understand that Avimator is an abandoned project, and Qavimator is a work in (early) progress. Good luck with it Zi, and I'll try your suggestions. When I've run into that situation with Avimator I change it from 30 to 60 <or insert whatever you need here> and just copy and paste from the last anim point to the new last frame. Wash, rinse, repeart... and just make sure to check the animation as you go along. First just note down the keyframes. As you copy/paste it may change the animation slightly as you go. But mostly with the keyframes I've needed those usually remain relatively unchanged. But this is info given in my limited experience with Avimator. *shrug* |
