anyone know of where i can get a script to put in my pose balls or AO to stop the default sl hand animations?or a way around this?

I think the problem applies to AOs but not poseballs. Not sure, I'm not in-world to verify this at the moment.

Um, the TaP prim nails hand override seems to work fine... (The only time I've seen problems is when dances or other anims are uploaded at too high a priority, which borks everything of course!)

hi, are you making your own animations and uploading into the game? I found a way to make absolutely sure that there was no hand movement in my animations was when I made the second frame in avimator (yeah, cheap and nasty but it does for now until I can convince my new PC that POSER IS supposed to work) You know when you move the little man/woman figure's limbs they go green? Well, in that second frame - I make sure I move every single limb, even if its just a tweak, so that the entire figure is green when I am finished, then upload at priority 4 and NO typing or that spastic flapping that some do ... try it, it works Otherwise, if you are using animations in your poseballs that have the hand moving ... you cant over ride this that i am aware ... sorry

If by "hand animations" you are referring to the fake typing animation, yes, you can disable this within the client without using another AO. Here is a link to Torley Linden's blog with instructions how to turn off the typing animation. http://torley.com/want-to-turn-off-the-typing-animation-and-sound

I think he/she means the fact that SL will often ignore the hand position set at the time of the animation upload. It's a very annoying problem, which has vexed me for some time. I play animations at Priority 4, with both hands as fists, and yet, some SL default animations at a lower priority, manage to override the hand position, and nothing else. I even went so far as to download the Viewer Source code to try to track down the problem, but I only made limited progress. The code is spaghetti. If someone has a way to ensure a fist stays a fist, I would probably give them my firstborn. :\

My TaP nails are always blowing off. Sometimes just my AO changing the stand animation will do it. I love the look of these nails, but seldom wear them because of this problem. I just got a set of prim nails from CC Designs. These aren't as well shaped as the TaP nails, and have to be edited nail-by-nail to fit the fingers (although the nail art on them is excellent). But the best part is, they really stick to the fingers. I only managed to blow them off once, with a freebie poseball animation...and they jumped right back into place the instant I stepped off the ball.

Stay away from those bad priority 4 anims? Even scarier, those others you mention probably are scripted to fix it more frequently, meaning more lag because of bad too-high priority animations...

I'm currently using an AO by SynEmotion, and the anims are all prioritized to override the "typing hands" chat animation. But I've used other AOs in the past with lower priority (Vista, for example) and I still have the Detaching Nails Problem. I think it's the nail glue.
