Here's the problem I'm having: I'm trying to make animations (with Avmotion) that are for holding and firing guns. The default ones are a little, well, odd-looking in my opinion. These usually leave the hips as they are, so that walking isn't affected, but pose the upper body differently.

The problem I'm having is that if I upload them at priority 2 (the same as the default gun holding animations according to the wiki) when the avatar is in mouselook and looks up or down, the pose does not change to point their upper body up or down as well, so they're only ever pointing their guns horizontally. This isn't usually much of a problem as people tend to point guns at those on their own level, but it irks me.

If I upload at priority 1, the gun moves with mouselook but the av tends to wave it around add odd moments and not keep the pose unless standing absolutely still, as well as ignore the upper body positioning most of the time it seems which restricts the pose itself. That's pretty useless.

Is there any solution to this that anyone knows about? The default anims don't have this issue. The effect with the priority 2 anims looks okay in practice, it's not spoiling the products, but I'm a perfectionist.

The avatar can move only its head up and down in mouselook, can't it? I'm not sure which parts are moving exactly in mouselook because I can't see myself. :p If the chest moved when you looked up, your upper body would move as long as you didn't give it keyframes.

But this is interesting. I've never thought such a situation. I will try to study. :)

I made sure that it was the abdomen that goes along with looking up and down in mouselook, not the chest.
So all you have to do is that just create two frames animation.
Let it posture natural at the first frame. And let just its arms, that is, Collars, Shldrs, ForeArms, and Hands, move and posture holding a gun at the second frame. Then save and upload it. Even though you give it to priority at 4, the upper body moves when you look up and down because you didn't give a keyframe to the abdomen.
But don't expect too much. It is just an upper body movement. You won't be able to shoot much higher and lower so that they need your arms (shoulers) moving.

Just the abdomen? I might be able to keep that still and still have it looking reasonable, if I can turn the chest as well. I'll have to redo the whole pose and firing animation, though. Bah.

I'll let you know how it goes - thanks.
