Can someone tell me the difference between animations and poses and how you create poses. I have qavinimator, but can not get a static pose from this. Maybe I am doing it wrong. I am a newbie to the animation process and took 2 classes yesterday but I think I missed an important bit of information regarding static poses.
I also have poser, do I need to use this porgram for this? (I have the SL models)
thanks for your help.

There isn't a difference - a short animation that loops on a single frame is usually called a "pose".
If you create a two-frame animation in Qavimator, with the second frame being the position you want the av to take, then import it into SL looping on that frame - setting "In" to 100% and "Out" to 100% in the import box - that will be a pose.
