Hello,

I'm a new Animator and new to DAZStudio. I'm trying to export my pose/animation, but when I try to do that I get this error... "Select a single skeleton for export." This is my first time using software like this and my first pose/animating adventure. Can someone please help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance!

You need to double click the avatar to select it completely. Word of warning though Daz3d is currently buggy and you need to use notepad to edit the .bvh file once you've made it. It capatalizes Hip Head Neck etc remove the capitalizations of any joints then save the BVH file then it should load into sl.

I've found though with some poses the left arm does not show correctly and I've yet to figure that one out. Anyone reading who has, help appreciated.

Hope this helps Aeton

When any body part doesn't move or stay as it should, usually one of the joints is unused. SL needs sufficient change in all joints during an animation. At least between frame 1 and 2 all joints should be slightly moved or rotated.

Of course, you can use that as a feature. Imagine a sitting posture for a chair; if you keep the neck and head joints unchanged, your avatar will be able to turn her head while sitting. But with unchanged arm joints, the arm would be affected by the standard typing animation.

Thanks, but now I'm getting an error when trying to upload my animation into SL. Says failed to initialize motion. I'm starting out with a simple pose before I go into an animation so my file isnt actually framed.

Thanks again for your help!

make sure you have the resources from here
http://secondlife.com/community/avatar.php

use the sl avatar. Load it into Daz3d, then apply the BVH pose
SL_Avatar_Tpose.bvh from the SL resource kit
don't touch frame 0 in daz, start your work on frame 1
