Animation Preview Using Male Model?

Ok. I've done poses and animations for awhile now. But my brain is either dead or I'm a real newbie (or both). But is there anyway to make the preview model male? I am finally getting around to making more male poses/animations but its a pain when the preview screen is a female model because they arnt the same and dont line up . It's bad enough that there are less items for the guys but making it more expensive for creators to design for guys is even more saddening.

Ideas?

Have you tried wearing a male shape on your character when you upload/preview an animation? (Even just edit your appearance and toggle it to "Male".)
I assume that would make the animation preview character male, too. I really have no idea, I've never worn a male shape while uploading an animation.
